Winter Brawl Escalation 5v5
OVERVIEW
Hello everyone and welcome to the event page for the Gears Community Series: Winter Brawl tournament. This event will be held in collaboration with Big E Gaming and will be organized by Christopher“Deluxe” Haas at the Winter Brawl 3D event in Essington, PA.
The event will run from February 22nd-February 23rd and will be broadcast live on Twitch.TV/GearsCommunitySeries & mixer.com/GearsCommunitySeries
TICKETS
Team passes and Spectator passes can be purchased using the "Purchase Tickets" option at the top of this page. Passes purchased this way will ONLY be valid for the Gears 5 tournament. Players wishing to participate in the other games available at Winter Brawl 3D will have to purchase a venue pass either online or on-site during registration.
The e-mail you register your team pass with will be used to create your 5v5 roster for the tournament along with your Matcherino username. All roster changes must be made through this e-mail. Players will be allowed to edit roster up until the roster lock period at which point a roster change will forfeit your seed.
*Roster submission for those who purchase a team pass will be done at a later date.
SCHEDULE
Feb. 22nd, 2020: Day 1 - Check in Begins at 8 AM, Tournament starts at 11 AM
Feb. 23rd, 2020: Day 2 - Championship Sunday, Tournament resumes at 12 Noon

FORMAT
The Gears 5 Escalation Tournament will follow a Double Elimination Bracket Format.
PRIZE POOL
We are happy to announce a $5,000 Prize Pool for up to a maximum 16 teams. The first 16 teams to purchase a team pass will be entered into the tournament.
In addition, you can contribute by completing the Sponsor Quests on the page for FREE, using the coupon code "GEARSWB" for free or donating directly to the prize.

SEEDING
As this is an Amateur tournament, seeding will be randomized at the venue in the double elimination bracket.
HOTEL
The Gears Community Series: Winter Brawl will be held at the Clarion Hotel Philadelphia International Airport located at 76 Industrial Hwy, Essington, PA 19029. *Reservation is free up until check in. If you do not cancel by the day before the room reservation you will be charged one night stay
SECURITY
Security will be on site and will be doing FULL bag checks. Anyone entering the venue will be subject to a check so players please be aware.

This is a BYOC (Bring your own controller) tournament. No controllers will be provided at the venue. No mouse and keyboard allowed.
We will have Astro Mixamps for teams to plug in their headsets. No headsets will be provided at the venue.

CHARACTER AND WEAPON SKIN RESTRICTIONS
Each Team is only allowed one iteration of any character on their Team at one time, irrespective of character skin. For example, “Esports Kait” is the same as “Armored Kait”.
A single COG Team is only allowed 2 female characters.
A single COG Team cannot have one Player using a Marcus skin and another using Batista.
The following Character skins are banned from Gears Esports play:
Terminator T-800 (Swarm)
Terminator Rev-9 (Swarm)
The following weapon skins are banned from Gears Esports play:
Black Phantom
Skin violations must be flagged to Tournament admins on Discord prior to the end of the map the violation occurs on. In the event a violation is confirmed, the disputing Team will have the option to restart the Map. Disputing Teams must be able to provide video proof of the violation otherwise the dispute will not be considered.
Administration reserves the right to restrict additional Character and Weapon skins at any time.

The Higher Seeded Team will choose to act as Team A or Team B during the Map Ban process.
