About

Bribe and Conquest is an Age of Empires IV team tournament built around 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches.

Each team consists of exactly three players. Success will require strong individual performances, effective pairings, and full-team coordination.

The tournament uses a double-elimination bracket:

• Upper bracket matches are Bo5

• Upper bracket semifinals are Bo7

• Lower bracket matches are Bo3

• Lower bracket semifinal and final are Bo5

• The upper-bracket finalist starts the Grand Final with a 1–0 advantage

Teams will compete across a nine-map pool and use civilization drafts and snipes before their games. A new civilization draft is held after the fourth played game in longer series.

Rules

Team Registration

• Each team must register exactly three players.

• Three players are both the minimum and maximum roster size.

• A team cannot play if fewer than three registered players are eligible and available.

• A player cannot represent more than one team.

• Roster changes after registration closes require administrator approval.

• Each team must appoint one player as captain.

Tournament Format

The tournament uses a double-elimination bracket.

• Upper bracket: Bo5

• Upper bracket semifinals: Bo7

• Lower bracket: Bo3

• Lower bracket semifinal: Bo5

• Lower bracket final: Bo5

• Grand Final: first to four total game wins

The upper-bracket finalist starts the Grand Final at 1–0. The lower-bracket finalist starts at 0–1. There is no bracket reset.

Game Order

Bo3:

  1. 1v1
  2. 2v2
  3. 3v3

Bo5:

  1. 1v1
  2. 2v2
  3. 3v3
  4. 2v2
  5. 3v3

Bo7:

  1. 1v1
  2. 2v2
  3. 3v3
  4. 1v1
  5. 2v2
  6. 3v3
  7. 3v3

Because the upper-bracket finalist begins the Grand Final at 1–0, no more than six games are played.

Map Pool

• African Waters

• Dry Arabia

• Haywire

• Glade

• Lipany

• Socotra

• Volcanic Islands

• Fangs

• Forest Ponds

Maps are selected using the official Bo3, Bo5, or Bo7 map-draft preset. Maps cannot be repeated during the same series unless an administrator approves an exception.

Civilization Draft

• The administrator bans one civilization for the match.

• Each team then drafts an 11-civilization pool.

• Only civilizations from the team’s current pool may be nominated.

• Duplicate civilizations within the same team are not allowed in one game.

For each game:

• 1v1: nominate 2 civilizations; the opponent snipes 1

• 2v2: nominate 3 civilizations; the opponent snipes 1

• 3v3: nominate 4 civilizations; the opponent snipes 1

A civilization sniped for a game cannot be used in that game. Civilizations used or sniped in earlier games may be selected again if they remain in the team’s current pool.

If a series continues after the fourth played game, both teams must complete a new 11-civilization draft before Game 5. The new pools replace the original pools for all remaining games. The administrator’s original civilization ban remains active.

Lobby Settings

• Game mode: Improved Team Observer UI (Standard) by HeroMarine

• Win conditions: Landmarks, Sacred, and Wonder enabled

• Starting age: Age I

• Starting resources: Standard

• Map state: Concealed

• Tuning pack: None

• Cheats Allowed: Off

• Display Player Scores: Off

• Reveal On Elimination: Off

• Recommended biome: Random Standard Biome

EU Temperate may be used if Random Standard Biome creates a gameplay or visibility problem.

A game launched without Improved Team Observer UI (Standard) must be replayed.

Coaching

Coaching and outside assistance are prohibited while a game is being played.

Only players participating in the active game may discuss gameplay. Players may talk with teammates before the game begins and after it ends.

Stream sniping, account sharing, unauthorized spectators, and outside strategic information are prohibited.

Streaming and Observer Delay

A five-minute stream delay is not required.

• A zero-delay player stream requires a zero-minute observer delay.

• If a team chooses an observer delay, its player streams must also use a delay.

• Delay settings must be confirmed before the game begins.

Disconnects and Restarts

Each team receives one disconnect-related full restart for the entire tournament.

The disconnect must be reported to an administrator immediately. Teams cannot restart a game without administrator approval.

For a verified disconnect during approximately the first two or three minutes, an administrator may review the game and grant an additional restart. The administrator may instead award the game to the opposing team.

Intentional disconnects and restart abuse may result in penalties.

Conduct and Administration

Players must compete fairly and follow administrator instructions.

Cheating, account sharing, impersonation, match fixing, collusion, harassment, exploits, macros, map hacks, or other tools that provide an unfair advantage are prohibited.

Administrators may review replays, screenshots, lobby information, account activity, and available login or IP-change information when investigating a rules violation.

Tournament administration has final authority over disputes, penalties, restarts, eligibility, and situations not directly covered by these rules.
