  6. New lineups must be send to an admin by 23:59pm GMT+1 Sunday. If players wish to use the same lineup as the previous week, they should alert an admin.
  7. Please read the rules section for critical information.

Format - Swiss

In Swiss format, you play a number of rounds determined by the number of players in the tournament. Each round (except for round 1) you will be paired against someone with the same game score as you. In the event where there is an odd number at any given game score, you will be matched against someone with a similar game score.

This tournament has 4 rounds of Swiss, the results of which will determine the seeding for the 2nd portion of the tournament, the Round Robin stage. Players will play in 2 rounds per week, for 2 weeks.

Players will organise a suitable time with their opponent to play each round. It is expected that players immediately work on orgainsing times after the bracket is posted and your opponent is known. The first round of the week will be played between Tuesday and Thursday, and the second round of the week will be played between Friday and Sunday.

Week 1 of the Swiss portion will be in Best of 5 Conquest Format, and Week 2 will be in Best of 5 Last Hero Standing (LHS) format.

  1. In Bo5 Conquest format, players will bring 4 decks, ban one of their opponents decks, and proceed to try win a game with each of their 3 remaining decks. Once a deck has been used to win a game, it cannot be used again. Whoever wins with all three of their decks first wins the match.
  2. In Bo5 LHS format, players will bring 4 decks, ban one of their opponents decks, and proceed to try to win 3 games. If a player wins with a deck, they must queue that same deck again going into the next game. If a player loses with a deck, that deck cannot be used again. If a player has no more decks left, they lose the match.

Tie breakers are determined by the HCT Tiebreaker System, which is explained here. Battlefy works out tiebreakers automatically.

Format - Round Robin

After the Swiss portion, players will be grouped into 8 pots, with 4 players in each pot, for a total of 32 players. If the total number of players exceeds this number, the worst performing players in the Swiss portion will be eliminated, until the number of players is 32.

The format of the Round Robin portion (Conquest or LHS) will be decided by a vote from the players, in the Discord.

The players will then be separated into 4 Groups of 8 players. These Groups will be seeded using one random player from each of the previously seeded pots.

Players will then play 1 match against each other player in the Group, regardless of current score in the Round Robin period, until each player has played against every other player in the group.

The top 2 players with the best game score will be seeded into the Top 8 Bracket.

Format - Single Elimination Top 8

Players will be randomly seeded into Single Elimination bracket. The winner of each match will progress to the next round.

If a player loses in the first round of Top 8 (quarter finals), they will finish the tournament 5th to 8th.

If a player loses in the second round of Top 8 (semi finals), they will drop to a lower bracket, where they will play another round to determine the 3rd and 4th place finishes.

If a player loses in the third round of Top 8 (finals), they will finish 2nd, with the remaining player finishing 1st.

Prizes

Players who reach Top 8 will receive a portion of the prize pool. The percentage break up is listed in the Payout tab.

Note on fees: Matcherino collects a 4% fee (and all Paypal/Bank fees are deducted) when a user cashes their wallet out to Paypal or check. See here for details and instructions on cashing out on the platform.

Critical Rules

Each format is described in the Description section above. Please read all of the details, and contact an admin on Discord if you have any queries.

Once the bracket has been announced, it is expected that the players will work to immediately organise a suitable time to play their match, within 24 hours.

It is the expectation of the tournament organizers that disputes will first be handled by players in a respectful manner. If the issue is not able to be resolved by the players, an admin will judge the situation as soon as they are able.

Join the Discord so we can contact you and you can contact Admins.

If you are not in the Discord, you will be unable to participate in the tournament.

Each week, a minimum of 2 matches will be streamed, one from each round, along with all of Top 8. The stream can be found on our Twitch channel, and the standard time for streamed matches will be 8pm GMT+1. The stream will have a 15 minute delay to prevent stream sniping. Players on stream are asked not to begin their any of their games until told to do so by an admin, and to accept the friend requests of members of the ILH Events team.

Players will be contacted prior to the stream to see if they are available and would like to be on stream. We will do our best to get as many different players on stream over the course of the tournament.

Banned Cards: Zayle, Shadow Cloak

Players are required to organise a time with their opponent to play their match. Any issues with coordinating a time should be brought to the attention of an ILH Events admin immediately so as to find a solution quickly and not hold up the next round(s). Failure to do so may result in a penalty for both players, up to and including a double loss for that round.

ILH Events operate a warning system for this tournament. Misconduct or breaking of rules may lead to an admin issuing you a warning. These warnings stack, and if you accumulate 5 warnings you will receive a minor penalty, and if you accumulate 10 warnings you will be issued a major penalty.

  1. A minor penalty will result in your deck submission deadline being reduced by 12 hours.
  2. A major penalty will result in you being required to use the last submitted decks for the remainder of the tournament, regardless of format changes.

Warnings will be issued at the admins discretion, and are final.

Warnings can be accrued in a number of ways. Some examples can be found below:

  1. Submit new decklists 10 minutes late (1 warning)
  2. Submit new decklists 1 hour late (1 warning)
  3. Submit new decklists 6 hours late (1 warning)
  4. Submit new decklists 12 or more hours late (previous weeks decklists will be used)
  5. Queuing a banned or ineligible deck in a match (1 warning)

Note that this is not an exhaustive list. Note also that if you submit a new decklist 6 hours late, you will accrue 3 warnings, one for each of the 10 min, 1 hour, and 6 hour points.

A player is not required to have any previous warning to be disqualified from the tournament. ILH Events operates a zero tolerance policy on abusive behaviour towards admins or other players. In the event a player is disqualified, no refund of the entry fee will be awarded, and they will be banned from future events.

We have no problems with you streaming the Tournament, we actively encourage this! We do recommend the use of a 5-10 min delay to eliminate the (small) chance of stream sniping, but this is not a requirement.

Prizes will be sent out as soon as possible after the whole tournament has ended.
