Format

Matchmaking - Players will queue for matches for 2.5 hours straight

There is no limit to how many matches you can win or lose in that time

You place at the end of the 2.5 hours based on your performance

Top 8 in standings after matchmaking will play again on stream

Top 32 each week will be assigned points

Top 8 in points at the end of the season will make the Finale

Best of 5 in Matchmaking

Characters: Winner must select the same character and variation, Loser may switch

Variations: Must be pre built before getting into a match with your opponent

Top 8 - On Stream

The format will be FT3 in Round 1 and Semis, then FT5 in Grand Finals. Single Elim

MK11 Gauntlet - There will be 8 tournaments total with one character chosen per event. This character is the only character you may choose during the event. The winners of each event will reach the finale in an 8 player showdown. The characters are the following. SHEEVA - RAMBO - MILEENA - RAIN - SHAO KAHN - KITANA - JAX - TERMINATOR. Winning any event locks you into the Finale, thus you would be unable to enter any remaining events in the Gauntlet.

Each week Matchmaking will take place OFF STREAM from 4PM ET until 6:30PM ET After Matchmaking the Top 8 Playoff will begin ON STREAM starting at 7PM ET

Regular season will be 5 weeks long plus a finale

Registration

Sign up at smash.gg/kolosseum. Sign ups will be live until the minute prior to the events start. DON’T FORGET YOU CAN REGISTER FOR ALL EVENTS AT ONE TIME AND NO WE WON’T LET YOU IN LATE! Reporting Scores/Matches

You will access your match via Player Dashboard on smashgg. When you are on the bracket page there will be a “queue” button in the middle. Pressing this will put you in the queue. Once an opponent has been found you will join and start the match. This will bring you to where you have the access to check in, talk to your opponent, invite, and submit results. Talk with your opponent here or in discord to coordinate a room if one is not provided by us or if the main one is full. After your match is over you will submit the result, then rinse and repeat until matchmaking ends.

If there are any issues reporting scores, other players refusal, or match issues please ping an admin here as well. PLEASE TAKE PICTURES FOR EVIDENCE TO MAKE THIS PROCESS EASY FOR EVERYONE. You can submit photos via the chat to an Admin.

Support

In your active match chat, there will be a button at the bottom that says “Request a moderator”, clicking this will notify an admin to come into the chat and help out. If smash is not working feel free to use the discord at discord.gg/nDgzMQtbz3 for all help. Remember to select a role!

Prizing/Crowdfunding

For The Kolosseum we will be partnered with Matcherino to provide an amazing crowdfunding experience for those who want to support the series and players. This goes directly to the players!

Payouts

Finale Payout- 1st - 30%, 2nd - 20%, 3rd - 15%, 4th - 10%, 5th - 7.5%, 7th - 5%

Payouts will happen within 72 hours of the tournament's end via Matcherino. You must have a valid matcherino and PayPal account. You will need to transfer the funds yourself after they have been paid out to your Matcherino account. Please have correct contact information available on smashgg so admins may reach out.

The number on Matcherino will not match what will be received when cashing out due to a Matcherino and Paypal fee associated with cashing out. This is after the money has been added to your account at the full value from the prize pool.

Unable to connect/Disconnect

If you can not connect to your opponent at all, ping an Admin via Smashgg and they will try to assist. In the worst case an Admin will make the final choice and must be respected. There are factors that may determine who will advance over the other in this case. Such as who has the better connection, who can connect to us, and other factors.

If you and your opponent disconnect from a match, ping an Admin via Smashgg. If only one player was disconnected, then the player who remains has the right to take the game. In the case that both players get the same error it will result in a redo. If there is a dispute an Admin will make a ruling here as well based on a few factors such as who was disconnected, what the score was, what the ping is etc. Please respect the Admins and their decisions. All conversations between admins and players we ask to keep private.

Code of Conduct

All players agree to exhibit good sportsmanship throughout the series. If any player is caught breaking the rules they will be at the mercy of the admins. In the case of collusion the player(s) found colluding will be disqualified from the week, but further action may be taken that could result in forfeiture of points/position. This also goes for chat, any vulgar language or verbal assault of viewers/staff/players can also result in punishment.
