The Ring #37
Hosted by Kafonn and the mods of the Herds Battle Tower, The Ring is a Them's Fightin' Herds NA weekly designed to grow the competitive scene in Them's Fightin' Herds and improve the overall community at the game! We will be an active weekly that will usually host tournaments every Saturday at 7:00 PM EST.
Joining the Discord is REQUIRED for all competitors!
Crossplay is LEGAL for all competitors!
Baihe is BANNED but Nidra is LEGAL UNDER STIPULATION (See Details Below)
Discord
You must join the Discord server in order to be able to enter the bracket. If you are not in the Discord by the time the bracket starts, we will DQ you.
Region Lock
This is a region locked tournament, available only to Canada, Mexico, & the continental United States. Alaska, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica, Mars, Cuba, & DR are not eligible and forbidden from entering.
You must have a stable, wired connection. Wi-Fi is not stable under any circumstances. If you're unsure about your connection quality, ping @Foenum Council in the Discord - we can meet with you in the lobby for a quick check.
On top of this, your PC must maintain a consistent 60 FPS while running Them's Fightin' Herds. If you're unsure about your performance, ping @Foenum Council in the Discord - we can meet with you in the lobby for a quick check.
Connection
You will be DQ’d from the tournament for poor connection quality. If your match is suffering from significant connection issues, contact a TO by pinging the @Foenum Council role in Discord, and they will conduct a connection test on both players. Connection tests must be called before the end of the set, in which we will test both the ping as well as the FPS of your console. If both players pass the connection test, the match counts. If either of the players doesn’t pass the connection test, the match doesn’t count, and if the player at fault can’t fix their connection within 5 minutes, they will be DQ’d. You do NOT need to alt+f4 if there is a connection issue mid-match.
Check-Ins
Check-in is 1 hour before tourney start. Players who do not check in will be given 5 minutes after tourney start before they are DQ'd. Players who check in will be given 10 minutes after tourney start before they are DQ'd. If a player is inactive for a match in bracket and did not give a valid reason for said inactivity prior, the opponent must give them 10 minutes since they were pinged, and, in the case that they do not respond in 10 minutes, they will be DQed.
Set Records
- Players are encouraged to locally record their sets to help resolve potential disputes.
- Sets are best 2/3 until losers finals, winners finals, and grand finals, which are 3/5.
- The bracket is double elimination.
Bans
- Shadow palettes are banned unless both players agree to it and a stage beforehand
- If your opponent picks a palette + stage combination that is difficult to see, you can alt+f4 and request that they change.
- Players can request that specific palettes or stages not be used for any agreeable reason as determined by the TOs.
- If you win a game in a set you cannot change characters. If you picked random for the first game and won, you must pick random again. The only exception is a bracket reset in grand finals, which counts as a new set where either player can choose any character.
- Sets will be marked for stream. Do not play your set until instructed if you are marked for stream.
- If your Discord account is banned from the Herds Battle Tower server, you are banned from entering The Ring. The ban was caused by either breaking the rules on the server or previous exchanges in other places that go against the rules established in the server. If you would like to know the specificities, please DM Kafonn on Discord for details.
- Nidra is banned from cancelling into Level 2 unless it is on hit, so as to prevent the glitch that allows her to become completely projectile invulnerable on block. If a Nidra does this the opposing player can choose to call them out and have them forfeit the round. If the opposing player calls this out when Nidra did in fact Level 1 on hit, then the opposing player must forfeit the round instead, since they interrupted the round without plausible reason. Please make sure to save the replay after the round so we can confirm that this occurred.
