About the tournament
This tournament is a one-day event dedicated to the awesome and competitive community that has formed around Resident Evil Village.
Eight(8) runners will compete in a 2-round event where they will all get one attempt at a village of shadows (difficulty), glitchless speedrun.
The first four to complete the fastest will move on to the second round, where they will take a short break. After the break, the best four runners will compete against each other in a second round.
Rankings in the second round will be decided by their finish time.
Prize money will be distributed based on placement.
Prize pool
The event will start with an initial prize pool, donated by Waifu himself, to get it up to $500.
The prize pool is fundraised and every member of the community is welcome to donate to the prize pool!
Anyone can contribute to the prize pool and 100% of the money will be given to the winners.

Rules
GENERAL RULES
For the maximum amount of fairness, this event will be timed using the Load Remover Timer made by CursedToast.
STREAM OVERLAY
Each runner will be required to display their own timer unobstructed on their stream.
All runners will also be required to show the SRT unobstructed on-screen so that we can verify the legitimacy of the run.
Runners must also cap their framerate to 120FPS for the duration of the run, and show the FPS counter unobstructed on-screen. Framerate cap may be altered to go lower than 120FPS (30,60 or 120), but not higher.
Any runner who does not have all three pieces of information on the stream for their run will be disqualified. Some exceptions may be made for technical difficulties; these will be decided by the staff of the event on a case-by-case basis.
PLAYING THE GAME
Using DLC weapons or items is not allowed. The same goes for New Game+ (NG+) items.
Tactical resets and pauses may be used to teleport Ethan, despawn/move enemies or load things quicker.
The top left corner of the screen where checkpoints are shown must be clear and unobstructed.
No macros may be used in this run.
Pausing the game to move your cursor to the correct inventory/key item is banned.
Pause buffering to load in item pickups from containers/drawers/inventory on certain doors is allowed. This is also allowed during the Chris section.
Out-Of-Bounds (OOB) glitches will not be allowed.
Every participant is consenting to having their stream restreamed on twitch.tv/waifu for the event.
If the game crashes, the runner must simply restart the game and hit continue. The timer can be paused manually and must start again once loaded back into the game. In instances of crashes, the staff will retime the runners time by taking the crash into account. Retiming may delay the announcement of the final results.
You are allowed to reload checkpoints, but loading any manual saves will invalidate the run and the runner will be disqualified.
All runners will start when Waifu or another staff member says GO in the #go-channel discord channel.
THE BEST 4
The first four runners to complete the game with the fastest time on their load remover timer will move on to the next round, where the same rules apply. Any runner not on the Miranda fight when the 4th runner finishes the run will have their run mercy-killed in the interests of time.
After the first round, there will be a 15–30 minute intermission to declare the winners of the first round. This intermission also allows runners a break before continuing to the second round.
The winners will be announced in the #results discord channel by Waifu. No other staff holds weight, as Waifu will be the final checker over placements. Times will be posted with rankings in this channel to verify legitimacy of any victories.
MODIFICATIONS
Modifications are allowed during runs, but nothing that would be considered an advantage. Usage of unknown modifications that do not grant an advantage will be decided on a case-by-case basis, with the staff's word final. If you don't want to be disqualified, play it safe.
Field of view (FOV) mod is acceptable.
CONDUCT
Keep it mellow: I'm not super strict, but keep it within Twitch TOS.
No outside music.
No racial slurs or anything of the sort. You will be a guest on my stream, so please be polite.
Cursing is fine, but please don't trash-talk other runners.
Excessive breaking of these rules may lead to disqualification and barring from events in the future.
TIEBREAKERS
First round: If two or more runners finish the game in the same time, the times upon finsihing the Moreau fight will be compared and used as a tie-breaker. If times are still tied at Moreau, the times when finishing the propeller boss shall be used.
Second round: If two or more runners tie, their completed time in the first round will be used as the tie-breaker. If that time also ties, then the time from the first run's Moreau split will be used.
RESOURCES
All resources can be found in the #resources channel in Waifu's discord.
All runners will be required to display these on stream during the entirety of their runs.

All event funding and earnings will go directly to the runners who qualify. This is a non-profit event for Waifu or any of the staff.
