WPL Tetr.io Open #2

Format

First to 11

Double Elimination

In Grand Finals, when the player from losers bracket beats the player from winners bracket, the bracket is "reset". They play a final set because both players only have one set loss in the tournament.

Seeding done by Tetr.io Sprint time PB. Please have a sprint time completed and sign up with an accurate PB sprint. If you don't have much Tetr.io playtime, a jstris sprint PB is also ok. 

1 Day Tournament, starting shortly after 4pm EST as soon as brackets are finalized. 

Anyone can participate!

Prizes

The prize pool starts at 200 USD, and allows for additional crowdfunding via Matcherino.

1st: 60% Prize Pool

2nd: 30% Prize Pool

3rd: 10% Prize Pool

And the most prized possession of all, discord roles for the top 3.

-Disbursed via Matcherino, have an account and payment method setup with the site.

-If you do not accept your prize, it will be added into the next WPL Tetr.io Open prize pool. 

Custom Game Match Settings

All the settings are default EXCEPT:

Gravity Margin Time: 7200 (as opposed to 3600)

Gravity Increase:  0.0035 (as opposed to 0.0025)

This is done to mirror Tetra League settings.

Top 8 Matches

All Top 8 matches will be streamed. If you make it to winners semi-finals or losers semi-finals, please pause in order for the game to be streamed.

Stream will be live for the whole event. 

Matches before top 8 will be picked by the admin, and you will be communicated with. Do not wait to see if you can get your match streamed as the early rounds need to be done in a timely matter. 

You are welcome to stream your own matches on your personal stream!

Communication/Forefits

-You must be in the WPL Discord to communicate with your opponents. If you are not online and able to communicate with your opponent within 10 minutes of the bracket being posted or updated to display your match, you will forfeit the match. Let an admin know if you can't communicate with your opponent.

-Please be set to ONLINE on discord so that communcation lines are open for admins and opponents. 

-If you need to go AFK for over 10 minutes after your match has been posted in the brackets, please let your opponent and an admin know so that we can work it out. If you take too long, it will result in a forefit.  

-Either dm your opponent the game lobby or use the #lobby-setup channel in the WPL discord to share the game lobby, and tag your opponent (using @(playername)) to get started. If you are tagged first, please join your opponent's lobby. Please double check lobby settings to make sure they are correct and in line with the custom game settings outlined above. Before you start, PLEASE make sure both players are ready to play. 

-Post match results in the WPL discord in the #Match-Results Channel. Taking a screenshot at the end with your game score and posting it to discord is encouraged. I may show some of them on stream to keep people updated... Feel free to get creative with them (i.e. mspaint skills)

-Please use English when communicating publicly with your opponents and in the WPL discord. 

Warm-ups

-If a player would like to warm up, do a ft1 set. Only one warmup set please. There are plenty of other outlets to warmup beforehand!

Disconnections

-If a player disconnects, that round will go to the player who remains connected. The player who remained connected should take a screenshot of the score screen to ensure both players know where the score stands. 

-Unfortunately, Tetr.io is a little more difficult in getting your score to where it should be (I already have put some feature requests in for the future to help this). When you get back into a lobby with your opponent, set it to be first to 11, and top out your boards until you were at the score that you had beforehand, with the player that didn't disconnect having one more point. Be sure to message an admin for any clarification on this during the tournament if it were to come up. Be respectful of each other and try to have a fair resolution regardless.  

-If the server happens to shutdown, restart the set. If both players agree, you can set the scores back to where they were doing the server reset. Tetr.io does give out warnings, so if there is a notification of a reset inbound before you start your set, please be patient and wait it out. 

Spectators

-You are welcome to have spectators in your match. If you would not like to have spectators, feel free to kick them or request that they be kicked. If you are the host and a request is made for no spectators, please respect it. To avoid spectators be sure private message each other the lobby invite rather than using the public channel. 

Pauses

-You are welcome to request a pause in chat if something comes up. You do not have to accept the pause and may continue playing. Please be ready to play before you start the set.

-With this in mind, please have chat enabled.

Keep it Cool Dudes

-No racist, xenophopic or sexist language. Poor behavior may result in a ban from the event.

-Be a good sport. However, friendly smack talk is encouraged.
