Ever wonder why nobody ever thought to mix the smash mouth, offensive, gritty pagentry of Attitude Era Professional Wrestling with a real bonefide video game league. Well, I had that idea! The Beef Set League is a quasi-Role Play league where I track everyone's ranks and we all talk massive amounts of trash to eachother in chase for the ALMIGHTY WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! (note: there are not actual weight classes in video games)

NEW THIS SEASON: There will now be a Tiered Ranking System for placement and payouts. Top 8 will now have a special bracket and separate payout. Top 8 will be defined as the 8 highest ranked players placed under the final champion at the end of the season.
Sets will be played out in a first to 5 wins format. The player with 5 matches won in a set will be declared winner of the set. Matches are defined as one set of 2 out of 3 round contests. The player who wins 2 out of 3 played rounds will be awarded the match. The first player to reach 5 matches won, will be the ultimate winner of the full set.
Players who competed on the last day of the previous season's Grand Finals card (11.10.2023) will start with a "Pre-Season Bonus" of having that day of matches count toward the season totals for Season 2.
The match rules will follow the in-game Tournament Rules regarding game clock and in-game rules.
All characters, kameos and stages are legal. All stages will be chosen via random select. Character and kameo changes between matches can only be performed by the player who lost the previous match. The play who won the previous match must stay the same character and kameo.
Neither WIFI nor non-North American players are banned, however any players using a WIFI connection or playing from outside the continental United States and Canada will be docked one point at the start of the set. These players will start all sets at a 1-0 set disadvantage.
Each set is worth 5 points, one point for every match won. Points carry over through out the season. The player with the highest Point Total at the end of the season (Jan 25, 2024) will be crowned the Champion.
All players who are invited to compete on stream will be eligible for payout from the prize pool. Stream slots will be awarded on a first come, first served bases, with overall Point Totals and seniority being taken into consideration. Players who have the highest point totals, or have participated in previous seasons, or have signed up in the past for the specific time slot will be prioritized in that order.
Players will sign up via the live Twitch stream, or Discord channel for their time slot. On the day of the event, players will play out their match at the assigned time. If they are invited to play on stream, they will play out their match on the live Twitch broadcast, otherwise they will play out their match off-stream and record the results via Twitch chat or Discord. Players who do not show up to their assigned match at the assigned time will be disqualified after a grace period of five minutes.
Matches played off stream are to be recorded in the Discord channel labeled for "Off Stream Sets". All players will be reasonable for playing out ONE first to 5 set each week, whether on stream or off stream. Players can make up matches missed by organizing make up sets on the Discord channel.
Players can only play an official set against a specific player ONCE per week. Players can make up as many matches as needed per week, however if a player has multiple matches to make up, they will have to play against multiple different opponents for each set to count for the week.
At the end of the season, 50% of the prize pool will be split amongst the Top 8, 25% of the Prize pool will be split among all competitors who competed on stream, with the final Champion receiving the Championship Bonus of 25% of the total pool.
