TOURNAMENT RULES:

[PC] Any% New Game Restricted Standard/Any (Normal/Any)

Only PC runs will be eligible for this Tournament, as the end times will be determined by LiveSplit.

Eligibility:

This is an open tournament, so anyone can apply to participate. The top 12 runners in this category will be eligible to participate in the tournament.

Runs are REQUIRED to be livestreamed on Twitch/YouTube or a similar livestreaming website. Participants will also be required to livestream their runs on Twitch on the day of the tournament. Anyone who cannot stream their runs to Twitch on tournament day will not be able to participate.

All participants must submit their run via the discord by Thursday November 14th, 11:59pm EST. There is a channel in the discord called #submissions where you will be required to post a link to your personal best in order to be eligible. Please do not link your entire VOD, only the highlight where the PB occurs.

Any runs not submitted by the deadline (11:59pm EST Thursday November 14th) will not be eligible. This is to allow enough time to make the schedule and tournament brackets, as well as reach out to each of the runners and find substitutes if necessary. Runs are also encouraged to be submitted to Speedrun.com.

Once the date of the tournament is near please check your discord and email frequently for important information, and try to reply to DM's in a timely manner.

All runners must be available to run on BOTH tournament days. If you are suddenly not available to participate, please let Sneevil know as soon as possible, so that someone else may be contacted to take your spot. Please do not submit to the tournament if you are unavailable on either of the event days.

*At any time the schedule/amount of participants is subject to change. I am wanting to have 12 participants to give more people a chance to participate. While there is a prize pool for this tournament, I am also putting this on for fun and to encourage people to bring the time down for this speedrun as low as possible. If for whatever reason we cannot find 12 participants, I may lower the tournament brackets to include 10 or even 8 members instead of 12.

Speedrun Rules:

All speedruns submitted to this tournament must also be eligible to submit on speedrun.com leaderboards. All runs must follow the game/category rules, and failure to follow these rules may lead to disqualification. As this is a new speedrun, rule changes for the game/category on speedrun.com may be made in the near future. Please check the Discord for updates on rules changes and how they may affect the Tournament. I will try my best to accommodate both the rule changes and the needs of the runners.

Game Requirements

Video and Audio: Game video and audio must be present throughout the run.

Starting Point: The video must start from the main menu.

Ending Point: The video must end on the final Results Screen.

Macros and Automation: No macros or automated inputs are allowed.

Game Modifications: Cosmetic or gameplay-altering modifications are not permitted except Ultra Plus Fixes and Visual Improvements

Run Conditions

• Complete the game on "New Game"

Timing

• Primary Timer: The Load Removed Time (LRT) found in resources is the primary timer.
• Secondary Timer: Users are encouraged to submit their In-Game Time (IGT) as well.

Platform Requirements

• FPS Display: Frames per second (FPS) must be displayed at all times.
• FPS Cap: Frames per second (FPS) is to be capped at 120.

Crash Allowance

• You may continue from a checkpoint if your game crashes.

Game Settings

• Please select Standard combat and any puzzle difficulty

Rule Set Restrictions

• FPS Abuse: Manipulating the game's Frames per second (FPS) to gain an advantage is prohibited.
• Unloading: Using unloading spots to unload enemies and the environment is prohibited.
• Object Climbing: Object climbing to get out of bounds is prohibited.

Streaming Rules:

Participants must adhere to Twitch TOS during their streams and during the tournament. Any racist/homophobic/transphobic/sexist etc. comments will be grounds for immediate disqualification. Swearing during the tournament is allowed, just please do not be excessive. No politics or otherwise controversial topics are to be discussed during the tournament.

By participating in this tournament you are granting Sneevil permission to restream video/audio footage from your Twitch stream onto her Twitch channel.

If Stream/Internet Dies:

If your stream/internet dies during the tournament, pause as soon as you notice. Restart your stream asap. DM Sneevil if you are having issues restarting your stream. This is only allowed to happen once (exceptions can be made at my (Sneevil's) discression). Do not start running again until you are given the go-ahead. Participants are HIGHLY encouraged to record their runs during the tournament as well as livestream just in case issues like this occur. You are more likely to not be disqualified if this happens if you have a recording of your run as backup.

If Game Crashes:

If your game crashes, you are allowed to load up your most recent autosave as per speedrun.com rules.

Ties:

In the case of a tie, the runner who had the fastest Mary/Maria fight will be the winner. If this does not break the tie, then the runner who had the fastest time reaching the apartments will be the winner.

In Summary:

I am hosting this tournament not only because I love speedrunning, but also the friendly rivalries that come with it. I hope everyone, even those who do not qualify, have a fun time grinding this category down. I can't wait to see all of your submissions and improvements!
