King of Chuseok: 2019

Friday, Sep 13, 2019 from 09:00 to 21:00. (KST)

Reason for the Tourney:
Korean Thanksgiving is known as Chuseok, and occurs from Friday, Sep 13th 2019.  While the traditional Chuseok gift employers give to their workers is a fancy gift bag full of Spam, I thought we could do something a little more festive - a Starcraft 2 Tournament! Good luck, and 추석 잘 지 내 새요!

How To Enter:

2.  Applications close on Wednesday, Sep 11th at 09:00 KST.

1. Player order will be completely randomized. List of challengers in order of play will be published by Wednesday, Sep 11th. This will be like a theme park ride - I can’t promise how long your the wait will be, but I will provide estimates.

2. Not all challengers are guaranteed a game.

Method of Play:

1. This is a king-of-the-hill, best-of-1 style tournament. The winner of each match will face the next challenger on the list. 

2. Challenger will choose the map. Maps may be chosen from any map in the 2019 Season 3 ladder map pool.

3. Challengers will have 3 minutes after the previous game ends to join the next game lobby. If they do not join in the 3 minute break, they will be disqualified and the next challenger will take their spot.

4. If the tournament runs out of challengers at any point, a 15-minute break will be called, and registration will immediately re-open via the google doc link.

Prizes:

1. Longest Reign (King Taejodae Prize)

1. The player who wins the most matches over the course of the stream will be awarded $100.

2. Once and Future King (President Moon Prize)

1. The player who is the winner of the final game of the 12 hour stream will be awarded $50.

3. Court Jesters (Yoo Jae-Suk Prizes)

1. Players who provide notably entertaining games during the stream will be awarded $10 prizes.

2. Court Jesters will be determined by the tournament organiser (that’s Creighton!) and Matcherino funds.

4. Matcherino funds over $150 will be distributed first to Court Jester prizes, then split evenly, increasing the prize pool for King Taejodae and President Moon prize winners.
