Time Limit on Sets
25 Minute Time Limit for each set. Player with the Highest Score Wins and if tied then over time is played and the winner of the tie breaker advances. Each Player gets TWO Time Outs of 2 minutes if needed each set. If the break is not needed then the time out may be overruled to move the event forward and prevent purposeful stalling of the event.
Camera/T.O/Host character
T.O. character is off limits at the beginning of the match in the box before spectator mode. Picking up the character or bouncing off the character to get an unfair advantage is not allowed. 1st time is a warning, 2nd time one point will be awarded to the opposing player.
The Camera character will hold left at the beginning and then give up as soon as possible.
Match Validity
Each Race is considered “Valid” until a player wins the match, or until both players agree to start the stage over, or both players agree to skip. Skip vote has 20 seconds before becoming invalid. Players MAY NOT stop the vote to skip until after 20 seconds have gone by. 100 seconds in the game must pass before asking to skip again. Tournament Officers may invalidate a match at their discretion.
Mulligan
If both players skip the stage at the beginning the players must play the next stage and can’t vote to skip until 100 seconds from the in game timer of the 2nd stage have passed. A vote to skip on the 2nd stage is allowed if the stage is inappropriate for a tournament setting or T.O rules the stage invalid.
Responsible Player
Responsibility of Quality Internet Connection, quality of controller, and console is on the player. If a player is disconnected during the match at any time the match is still considered Valid for the other player. Players when matched offline need to keep track of their wins accurately, if a discrepancy comes up then the TO will have the final say.
Respectful Player And Unnecessary Dramatics
Players will conduct themselves in respectful manner in Discord, Twitch, and Twitter when addressing any players and TO’s, making up lies about others lagging, cheating or displacing any personal responsibility will cost the player points during the valid matches and if they are not in a match they will be Disqualified into losers bracket, and after the first DQ they will be DQ from the event and put on a suspension or permanent ban.
Giving Up
Giving up Strategically is allowed to force a life counter on the other player.
Both players need to agree to skip the stage before giving up, if you give up or quit the stage while the game is valid, the other player will have the rest of their lives and time to complete the stage.
No Progress
When both players are stalled/or one player is blocking the door or denying opportunity to steal the key for over 20 seconds, the match will be ruled invalid.
The stage can be ruled invalid by T.O and once invalid the stage will no longer be playable. This is to prevent anyone from moving last second and restarting the timer to loophole the rule.
After 4th ‘Start Over’ of the same level, the stage will be considered invalid
Multiple Stage Time Out/Stalemates (When the Stage Wins)
After 3 stalemates each player will receive one point after each additional stalemate. 2-2 will be the cap of points and the player needs to reach the goal to win the set. Stalemates are stage time outs, both players give up, or the player runs out of lives after a strategic give up.
