We'll also be using this time to conduct internet speed tests, set up players with a role for tournament announcement pings, check that discord names match Smash.gg, etc. so please make sure you're in the discord before that check-in time begins.

When / Where to play:

Winners' Bracket:

Streamed Winners' Bracket (and finals) matches will be played in a lobby hosted by Catboy (streamed on https://www.twitch.tv/CatboyGG). Players will be notified if they will be playing on stream via match threads on discord or through smash.gg chat before the round begins - please join the lobby specified in the message ASAP, even if the next round hasn't started yet. Getting players in the right space ahead of time ensures we can keep the bracket running smoothly for everyone.

Losers' Bracket:

In general, Losers' Bracket games can play off-stream as soon as they're ready UNTIL reaching top 8. HOWEVER, some games will be selected to play in our Losers' Bracket stream room, hosted by TBA (streamed on https://twitch.tv/TBA )

Losers' bracket games that are running ahead of the rest of the bracket will be prioritized to play on stream. A TO will notify you ahead of time if your match is selected to play on-stream (usually before your opponent is determined). Please go to TBA's stream right away, and let your opponent know that you're in the LB stream room when they become available for your match.

Off-Stream Matches:

Non-streamed matches should be played in Park US West Coast #41 - keeping everyone in one spot will cut down on the time needed to navigate the lobby/park system. If this presents a problem for you, please let the TO know so we can discuss alternative options.

Match Reporting

Please report match results directly into the Smash.gg bracket (check pinned messages in discord for a link).

In the event that a score is entered incorrectly or any other issue occurs with match reporting, please notify a TO and they'll help correct the score.

Connectivity Requirements:

- Participants are required to use a wired internet connection. Players found using a wireless connection will be disqualified, and may be barred from future Apawcalypse events.

- Only 1 account per player can compete in the tournament.

- Players are not allowed to share accounts or consoles/computers.

- Players must have an upload speed above 5 Mbps and jitter under 6 ms. Connections can be checked at https://speed.cloudflare.com/

- Notify a TO immediately if there are any connection issues with another player. Do not wait until the set is over. If players are unable to connect or the match is unplayable, the winner will be determined by coin flip or at the discretion of the TO.

Missing Opponents:

If you have trouble contacting your Winners' Bracket opponent within ~5 minutes of the round starting (after the round start announcement has been posted) notify a TO and they'll help track down your opponent.

When playing through Losers' Bracket, please send your next opponent a ping in the #find-your-opponent thread after entering your results into the bracket - you can get game location and such sorted out from there (reminder: off-stream games should play in Park US West Coast #41). If you don't hear back from your opponent in ~5 minutes after your ping (or if you can't find their discord name in the first place) please notify a TO they'll help track down your opponent.

Let's keep the bracket running smoothly so we can all spend more time playing and less time waiting!
