Hearts are Blazing // Guilty Gear -Strive- // Season One // Tournament Series Format:
- Hearts are Blazing is an Online Tournament Series held via Steam. Our events are based in Europe and as such require a Wired, Stable connection to Central Europe.
- This series features 16 Open Season Weekly Events. These events are held every Sunday at 7PM UTC+1. This Seasons first event will be held on June 27th.
- Securing a Top 16 Placement in these Open Season events grants participants with Placement Points. These Placement Points are used to secure an invite to our Season Finale.
- The Season Finale is a 16 Person Invitational event, taking place on October 24th. It also features a Crowdfunded Prize Pool that's generated throughout the Open Season.
- The participants who acquired the Top 16 Placement Points throughout the Open Season secure an invite to the Season Finale!
- In the event of a drop out the next highest score is invited instead. In the event of a Tie there shall be a short Round Robin to determine who receives the invite!

- 1st Place: 20 Placement Points.
- 2nd Place: 16 Placement Points.
- 3rd Place: 12 Placement Points.
- 4th Place: 8 Placement Points.
- 5-6th Place: 6 Placement Points.
- 7-8th Place: 4 Placement Points.
- 9~12th Place: 2 Placement Points.
- 13-16th Place: 1 Placement Point.

Discord // Rules:
- All participants must join the official Hearts are Blazing Discord server: Invite Link.
- All participants nicknames in the official Hearts are Blazing Discord server must match the displayed name on the Challonge bracket.
- All participants must have the Guilty Gear Strive and Tournament Attendee roles in the official Hearts are Blazing Discord server. You can do this using the servers #Role Selection channel.
These rules are in place to ensure that our Tournament Administrators run our events smoothly and stay in contact with the attendees. Failure to follow these rules may result in a Disqualification or Bye-Round.
Connection // Rules:
- All players are required to have a Stable, Wired Connection to Central Europe with no more than 200MS and 4 Rollback Frames. Any players found to be in violation of this may be subject to a Connection Test, Bye-Round or Disqualification.
- We recommend players from the following regions: Europe, East Coast, West Russia.
Connection Tests must be requested before the end of your set. Requesting connection tests where needed is important, so please do it. However, any misuse of the system is strictly prohibited. As this is a European focused event connections that favour Europe will be prioritised.
Please set your download region on steam to UK, Manchester. This allows players from all regions to connect to private lobbies.
Attendance // Rules:
- Check-Ins open 1 hour before our events begin, ending 15 Minutes before the event starts. There is no grace period. Participants should use this time to prepare for their matches. Failure to Check-In will result in a Disqualification.
- Participants have 10 Minutes to be present for their matches. If a Tournament Administrator cannot contact you during this time and you have failed to notify them of any delays you may suffer a Bye-Round.
- Once a match starts participants have 15 Minutes to complete their matches. Participants who fail to report the results of their matches or to inform Tournament Administrators of any delays may suffer a Bye-Round.
- Our events are Streamed, as such some participants will be required to play in a Streamed Lobby. Top 8 is scheduled to be Streamed In Entirety. Before this, certain Winners Bracket matches will be selected to be Streamed. Losers Bracket matches will remain Off-Stream until Top 8. More details will be provided in the official Hearts are Blazing Discord server after the Check-In has ended.
Match Format // Rules:
- Hearts are Blazing brackets are ran in the Double Elimination format.
- All matches are ran with the Default Tournament Rule-Set. (TBD.)
- All sets are played in the Best of Five matches format.
- Character Switches are Restricted. You may only switch characters After Losing a match in a set.
- Use of mods which provide the user with an unfair advantage or impact what others see are strictly prohibited. Anyone found to be using mods that negatively impact matches will be penalised severely.
Match Reporting // Rules:
- Participants are required to Self-Report the results of their matches. This is done via the Challonge bracket.
- In the case of a Dispute, evidence must be provided by both participants within 5 Minutes of the report. Failure to do so will result in a Bye-Round.
- Anyone found to be Falsifying Match Reports or Dispute Evidence Intentionally will be penalized and dealt with on a Case-By-Case basis.
