MTGA Historic Pauper Tourney: Full Metal Jacket
Welcome to The MTG Arena Historic Pauper Series! These events are brought to you by the MTGA Pauper Discord (https://discord.gg/A3JmXGVyQ7). The tournament will take place on 21 January at 12p EST / 6p CET.
Each tournament features Best-of-3 Historic Pauper matches in Swiss rounds. The number of rounds depends on player turnout. If you're not familiar with Historic Pauper, it's a format where every card printed at common rarity on MTGA is legal. It's highly accessible to nearly every player, even if you just started playing Arena. Use those common wildcards that you're hoarding and build a deck to compete! Entry is free. The top four scoring players will receive gem prizes.
- MTGA Pauper Discord Server (https://discord.gg/A3JmXGVyQ7) membership is HIGHLY encouraged. Registrants who can’t be identified in the Discord will be dropped if any matchmaking issues present themselves. To allow for easy identification, we recommend changing your nickname on the Discord server to your MTGA username.
- BANLIST: Persistent Petitioners, Ancestral Mask.
- Decklist submission is required. A known issue with the Matcherino deckbuilder is it does not play nice with digital only cards. If you wish to submit a digital only card, please use an off-color basic to get around the deckbuilding error. If there is an unknown issue posting the correct deck on Matcherino, players must send their decklist to the organizer on Discord before the event starts.
- You must link your Matcherino and Wizards/Twitch accounts. If you don't have a Wizards/Twitch account, you'll need to get one.
- 60 card decks and 15 card sideboards. Historic Pauper is a digital format, so Alchemy-only cards e.g. HBG are legal and the rebalanced versions of cards are used.
- Matches should be played using the Historic Tournament Match type. Using Challenge Match type will cut off each player's sideboard at 7 cards.
- If the top two players have the same match record at the end of the event, an additional championship match will take place between them. All other prize payouts will be determined by Swiss standings.
- If a player does not appear within 5 minutes of the round start time, their opponent for the round may claim victory. When each round starts is at the discretion of the TO.
- Matches must be completed within the Historic Tournament Match time controls (30 minutes per player). If a match did not start punctually and exceeds the round timer, the TO reserves the right to call turns.
